The company
Sancarraro is the nickname – “ngiuria” – given to the Andelmi family and his descendants since the 1800s, as it is said that the ancestors of the Anselmi they used to go to the town of piano San Carlo, located in the municipality of Mazara del Vallo, near the current nature reserve of Lake Preola and Gorghi Tondi, to cultivate their own vineyards.
The family
The Anselmi familiy which has been cultivating vineyards for generations, produces quality grapes. Among the cultivated varieties, Grillo deserves a special mention, a native vine, which in the area of Triglia, near the sea, has particular perfumes and aromas derived from the salinity and residues of Posidonia algae, which the wind distributes in the neighboring lands.
The territory
The small family business and other realities in the area of the Marsala, Petrosino and Mazara del Vallo area have established, since the 1960s, wine cooperatives that are among the largest in the world for the quantity of grapes supplied. The municipality of Petrosino, where some of these wine cooperatives reside, is ONE of the richest municipalities in the world.
The Wines
From the love for our land and for our food and wine products, the idea of promoting the marketing of our wines was born, which we have decided to offer in three different product lines that recall: earth, sea and sky.
Lilibeum: made with our territory in mind, it is our basic line of wines. They are made exclusively from native vines and are wines intended for daily use with an excellent quality-price ratio.
Mare Magno: recalls the greatness of the sea, which has always been the engine of the economy of Mazara del Vallo and the neighboring municipalities. It consists of wines produced with native vines and with the so-called international Sicilian vines.
Orion: wines with indescribable aromas and fragrances produced with native vines and with a vine of controversial origins, Syrah. Fascinating wines, like the constellation from which they take their name, for which it is difficult to find words to describe them:
